Classic (KS2) Core Kit (No Base)

The Classic (KS2) Core Kewlus Kit is ideal for those who want to try out reflex punching bag training at minimal starting cost and are able to either bolt it down to the floor (like a deck) or make a DIY base by simply gluing together two or more MDF boards. Being a modular system, the Classic (KS2) Spring can always be upgraded to the Prime (KS3) Spring at a later stage as you progress and want more from your Kewlus.

ATTENTION: It is critical to assemble the ball and adapter correctly. Please ensure you read the instructions fully before use. Failure to assemble correctly may void your warranty.

What's Included:

The Classic (KS2) Core Kit includes the following from the top:

• Classic (KS2) Spring - 2nd generation Kewlus spring that fits onto the Click Bar and is also compatible with 3/4 inch pipes for DIY setups. The Red Bar and the Classic Target Ball make up the ideal combination for the top section of the cobra bag when using this spring. 
• Spring End Covers (set of 2) - these are rubber covers designed to screw onto the ends of the KS2 Spring. They are designed to allow the Red Bar and the Click Bar to click into the Spring.
• Classic Target Ball, made using lightweight synthetic material makes it the ideal companion to the KS2 Spring;
• Target Adapter, designed to be the perfect match for any Kewlus Target Ball. One unique feature that's not found on other cobra bags is it allows the user to extend the length of the top section, thus increasing the reach of the target.
• Red Bar - designed to make up the top part of the cobra bag, its light weight allows for faster movement of the target. It goes into the top of the KS2 Spring.
• Click Bar - made from light, yet strong aluminium which will not rust, it is designed to click into the Mast to make up the bottom section of the cobra bag.
• Alloy Mast - designed to click into the Base Connector for quick and easy removal and storage of the cobra bag. Made out of aluminium it will never rust. The bottom Click Bar slips into this mast and clicks in place at the desired height, giving you height adjustment suitable for both kids as young as 8 and adults as tall as 6 foot.
• Base Connector - super strong, minimalistic base made from composite fibre. It comes with a stainless steel clamp for the collar to lock the mast in place for the ultimate rigidity - please ensure the steel clamp is tight around the collar before using the cobra bag - see picture.

Making a DIY Base:

The recommended way to set this kit up is to make a solid DIY base by gluing a number of MDF boards together. It's easy to make, low coast and super sturdy. Unlike Platform Paddles, this type of wooden base allows you the option to attach castor wheels to the back to make it super easy to move your cobra bag without taking off the sandbags.

Over the years I have refined the process of making a DIY base to a point where it is easy and extremely affordable - from just $35 for a 4-layer MDF board base, including glue and screws for mounting the Base Connector. I maintain an up-to-date DIY post with the latest video here.

Height Range

The height range of the cobra bag is roughly 4'1 (124 cm) - 5'11 (150 cm) from the floor to the top of the ball. Ideally you want the top of the ball to be at about chin level when you're standing fully upright in front of it.

The overall height can be increased for taller people by making a taller base - simply glue extra boards to the bottom of your DIY base to add extra height.
