Pounders are truly grab-and-go. Unlike traditional boxing gloves that require laces or Velcro straps, you simply grab the inner handles and start training instantly. Inside, removable soft knuckle pads cushion the impact of your punches while the silicone structure provides strength and shape. The pads don’t absorb sweat and can be quickly rinsed under the tap, making Pounders ideal for regular training or shared gym environments.

Beyond power, Pounders teach precision. Unlike the soft outer surface of normal boxing or MMA gloves, the hard rounded shell of the Pounders amplifies even small misalignments of your fist, altering the trajectory of the cobra bag target. This leads to immediate self-correction and effectively trains your muscle memory to strike with the first two knuckles.

Being modular, you can switch from heavyweight to lightweight. Each set includes lightweight composite fibre rods for a lighter training setup. With the weighted rods installed, the added mass increases muscle engagement and uses momentum to amplify the cobra bag’s swing range. Swap them for the lightweight rods to focus on speed, rhythm and precision.

Can be used with wraps. Pounders are designed to work without hand wraps, but for smaller hands wraps can be used to fill the internal space and create a more snug fit. The removable knuckle pads can also be taken out to create additional room when training with wraps.

Made from high grade silicone, the inner frame will not absorb sweat like normal boxing or MMA gloves. Even the removable knuckle pads are made from closed-cell foam and can be simply rinsed off under the tap. This makes them perfect for boxing gyms where they might be shared between classes and users.

The modular design also allows you to remove the hard outer shell (remove the weights first) and use them on a heavy bag (with caution*) just like small gloves — but with the option to add weight when needed.

How to Use Pounders

Pounders have a firmer feel than traditional boxing or MMA gloves. The removable knuckle pads protect your hands, but they are intentionally designed to give a more direct connection to the target. If you are new to training this way, start slowly. In the first couple of weeks limit your Pounders sessions to just a few minutes at a time to allow your knuckles and fists to gradually condition. If your knuckles begin to feel sore, simply switch to regular boxing or MMA gloves and return to Pounders later. As your hands adapt you’ll be able to train longer and strike harder.

Because Pounders can also be used with weighted rods, they will fatigue your arms and shoulders faster than standard gloves. Keep early sessions short and controlled to avoid overstraining your shoulders while your body adapts to the added weight and momentum.

Cleaning & Care

Removable knuckle pads make cleaning simple. After a hard session, just take the pads out and rinse them under the tap. Because they’re made from closed-cell material, they won’t absorb water and will dry quickly. When putting them back in, simply orient the K on the pad the same way as the K on the KEWLUS logo on the outer shell to ensure the correct fit and alignment.

* Heavy Bag Use Caution: Pounders are designed primarily for the Kewlus Cobra Bag and for precision training. They don't have the same level of padding as traditional boxing gloves so please take care if using them on heavier, more dense targets or on a heavy bag. If using them on a traditional punching bag always remove the outer shell. To remove the shell, remove the weights first, then squeeze the ends to take off the shell, and if needed, reinsert the weights before training. Begin gently, focusing on proper technique, and stop immediately if discomfort occurs.
